Paintball is a competitive game and sport, and like other competitive sports relies on a set of actions that move a player towards the purpose of eliminating the opposition. What makes paintball different from other sports is the cool equipment required to play and the extra dose of adrenaline. The equipment consists of a paintball gun, a pressurized gas tank, a comfortable ventilated mask, and paintballs.
To play, paintball requires a player who wants a more challenging, high-stakes version of tag, hide-and-seek, or capture the flag. It can be played with as few as two people or as many as 200; a game can last 5 minutes or 24 hours. But the objective is always the same, eliminate the opposition by hitting them with your paintball before they hit you.
For your first time out you will be playing games of approximately 20 vs 20 and the games will last 5 to 15 minutes.
Depending on the field you play, tactics will vary. A paintball game will be different every time, but there's one thing for sure when you play at Davis Paintball: it's an adrenaline rush.
On the contrary, paintball is one of the safest activities out there. There are several safety measures in place: firm industry standards governing approved paintball masks; thorough safety briefings for player; and limits on paintball gun velocities help prevent injuries. Also, Davis Paintball has highly trained referees to ensure that everyone follows the rules and stays safe, while maximumizing fun!
Ok, so Paintball is Safe, but does it hurt?
When people play paintball the adrenaline takes over, you'll barely feel a hit. But honestly, sometimes it does hurt. It depends on where it hits, whether it breaks or not (balls that just bounce of tend to be more painful), and what kind of clothing you are wearing. All paintball markers at Davis Paintball shoot under the legal limit of 285 feet per second and we strictly enforce a 5 foot "surrender" rule. Sometimes you won't even feel a hit. But even when a shot does hurt, it feels like getting snapped with a rubber band; the kind of thing you say "Ow!" about and then forget a few seconds later, but with the adrenaline flowing most hits are barely noticed.
Can I wear glasses and play Paintball?
Definitely. Glasses will fit comfortably under our rental masks
A paintball is a round, gelatine capsule similar to large round vitamin capsules or bath oil bead. The fill inside is non-toxic, water soluble and biodegradable, which usually rinses out of clothing with mild soap.
I've never played before, will I be "out-gunned"?
No experience is necessary. Special attention is given to beginner players with beginners' only games, that way everyone you are playing with and against is the same skill level. We won't let you be outgunned. If you were to play against more advanced players, you would get shot a lot, not enjoy the experience, and not want to come back.
We want to make sure you have the best time ever, so you get addicted to the adrenaline of paintball, and come back often! Plus our top-of-the-line rental guns will ensure you have a great time with us.
We encourage players to wear pants and a long-sleeve shirt or sweat shirt. Paint does wash out, but remember that you will be running and crawling, and you may get dirty, that's the fun! So dress accordingly. Comfortable shoes such as tennis shoes or hiking boots are also highly recommended.
We have packages starting from $40.00, which includes all your rental\playing gear, gun and paintballs! With more people in your group that price can go down.

How old do I have to be to play?
All players need to be 10 years or older. For players under 18 we also need to have their parent/guardian sign our waiver before the child can play. You can download or waiver at home, print and sign it at home, and then give the waiver to your child to bring into Davis Paintball when they come to play. The parent does not need to be present at the field.
